On the eastern coast of India lies the Bhitarkanika Sanctuary in Orrisa, the biggest hatchery of Olive Ridley Turtles in the world. About 600,000 turtles have been recorded coming here to lay their eggs in March-April every year. The mangrove forest teems with a wide variety of fish, birds, crabs and other life forms. But there are pressures on this sanctuary.

This film traces the biodiversity and the pressures on the sanctuary. The film has recorded rare footage of the mass nesting of Olive Ridley Turtles and the hatchlings taking to the sea for the first time.
